BASINGSTOKE and District Saturday League Division One leaders Hook registered their eighth league win in nine starts by beating AFC Aldermaston Reserves 8-2 at the King George V Playing Fields.

Nial Day opened the scoring for the home side followed by goals from Tom Davies, Adam Arthurs and Dan Mauradian.

Aldermaston's Reece Barrett made it 4-1 at the interval.

After the break two quick goals completed a hat-trick for Davies, before Leo Francis netted the second for the away side. Sub Dan Frump then scored a brace to complete Hook's tally.

Despite conceded eight goals, the Aldermaston keeper Darren Heath made a number of excellent saves to keep the score down.

Overton United A and Tadley Calleva A shared a 4-4 draw at Berrydown, after Tadley came back from 4-2 down.

Home side Overton took the lead from Kyle Buckland and Slyani Thomas doubled the advantage, before Tommy James pulled one back.

Thomas then netted his second, before Pete White made it 3-2 at half-time.

Thomas completed his hat-trick as his netted Overton's fourth, before White and Connor Thorne on his debut made sure honours ended even.

Twentyten Reserves took over third spot in Division Two after a 2-1 victory at Chineham.

Graham Jenkins and a Terry Collingridge own goal made it 1-1, before Dan Hancock scored the winner.

Basingstoke Athletic had a 6-3 win against Origin Headley. Ryan Watts gave them the lead after seven minutes and it was soon 2-0 when Paul Walsh-Taylor netted. Mark Bone replied with a penalty, but Athletic were 3-1 up at the break after Kieran Challis scored. Origin's second came from Ryan Johnson, but Aaron Johns soon had Athletic 4-2 up.

A penalty to Origin was put away by Miles Cash, but Athletic proved the stronger finishers as Watts and a Challis penalty sealed the win.
