THE Basingstoke Bison moved up to second spot in South One, after they maintained their perfect start to the season as they cruised to a 6-0 over the visiting London Raiders.

This was the Herd 10th straight win of their league campaign and for Dean Skinns it was his 11th shut out for the Bison.

The shot stopper turned away all 19 shots he faced, with 10 of them coming in the final 20 minutes, when the visitors really threatened to score.

The first period was dominated by the home side, as they were encamped in the London end zone for the first four minutes.

They got their deserved opening goal from Aaron Connolly, as he tipped home a shot from Tomas Karpov.

The Raiders first shot of the game arrived in the tenth minute, as Juraj Huska finally tested Skinns.

Soon after, the Herd doubled their lead thanks to a blue line bullet from Karpov.

The second session saw the Herd make it 3-0 at 28:50 Roman Malinik skated clear and rifled the puck into the roof of the net.

The Bison's fourth came from Man of the match Dan Davies, with a low shot from the slot.

The same player then added number five, as after London man of the match Michael Gray had made a couple of saves. Davies was able to fire the puck over the prone goalie.

Just 39 seconds later, Grant Rounding flew down the right wing, before sending a superb strike into the top corner leaving Gray no chance.

The Herd are next in action at home on Saturday (6.30pm), when they face the Bracknell Bess in a National Cup game.
