THE Basingstoke Strikers Disabled Football took part in the annual Streets Ahead tournament at Andover New Street Football Club.

There were various teams there, including teams from the Isle of Wight, Sholing in Southampton and Andover.

It was a non-competitive tournament, so there was no winners trophy but all participants received a medal after a full day of football.

All the teams enjoyed the occasion and the strikers played some really nice football in all their games.

In their own tournament played at War Memorial Park earlier in the summer, the Strikers were beaten in the semi-finals for the second year running.

The now annual event was once again a great success, and the club would like to thank Lee Crocker at Phoenix Sporting Goods who has supplied the strikers with some inflatable goals to benefit their training in the park on Saturday mornings.

They would also like to thank Currys for their support and Sports Direct for donating footballs for the tournament, which was won by a team by Woking Wolverines who beat Woking Wolves in the final.
