BASINGSTOKE and North Hants second team will have to win their final game of their Southern League Division Three campaign to make sure of promotion.
However, it is not going to be easy as they face leaders Waterlooville at May’s Bounty.
Victory in their penultimate game of the season against Fawley would have made sure of a top two place, but instead they lost it by 52-runs and now are just five points clear of third placed side Bashley II.
Having bowled out the visitors Fawley for 157, thanks to Rakitha Perera (3-19), Keith Harris (3-20), Chris Chandler (2-14) and Harry Smith (2-32), you would have backed the Bountymen to win.
Unfortunately, it was not to be as they were dismissed for 105 in 30.1 overs.
Scott Dyer (32) and Matt Deadman (16) were the top scorers, as Matt Brown and Adam Freeman took three wickets each.
