SILCHESTER tennis ace Hannah Smith reached four finals winning three doubles titles on the way at the Tennis Europe Events held in Nottingham .

Smith competed in 18 matches in singles and doubles and won both the under-14 and under-16 doubles titles at the National Tour event and the under-14 Tennis Europe doubles crown.

In the under-16 doubles, Smith teamed up with Harriet Eyles and the unseeded pairing had a bye in round one.

They then fought hard to defeat the second seeds in round two and the fourth seeds in the semi-finals before taking the under-16 title with victory over the number three seeds Danielle Hack and Elisa Van Meeteren.

In the under-14 singles category, Smith came through the first round winning 6-3, 6-4 against Sama Malik.

This led to a head-to-head battle with school and tennis team mate Abbie Tyler.

After a close first set, Smith took the win 7-5 6-1 to set up a quarter final match against the current under-14 Winter National Champion Caitlin Ward. Smith reached the semi-final with a 6-4, 6-4 victory and followed this up with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Jayanne Palma in the last four, before losing to Lily Hutchings in the final.

In the under-14 doubles Smith teamed up with Tyler making amends for the singles final defeat, winning against second seeds Hutchings and Rachel Cranley, 5-7, 7-6 11-9 in the third set tie break.

The pair then won in the second round against Jessica Doerr and Charlotte Howard 6-1, 6-4 before taking on fourth seeds Annabel Davis and Arabella Moen in the semi-final beating them 6-3, 6-2.

The final was against the number three seeds Millie-Mae Matthews and Natalya Ogunwale which again went to a third set tie break, with Smith and Tyler taking the National title winning 6-2, 4-6, 10-8.

Smith then competed in the Tennis Europe event also staged in Nottingham, teaming up with Savannah Dada MasColl, the pairing battled through four rounds to eventually claim the Tennis Europe title defeating the Polish number one seeds 6-4 6-2.
