HAMPSHIRE Irons were crowned Basingstoke and District League Division Two champions after they beat North Warnborough 10-1.

Their scorers were Chris Morris, Stephen Bown, Jack Miller, Mike Pemberton, all with braces, plus singles from James McIntosh and Tom Chant.

The game between Basingstoke Saints and Bramley United was closer than the 5-0 final scoreline suggests.

Saints let in three sloppy goals from set pieces in the first half, and it was four by half-time, having squandered a couple of good chances to stay on terms.

They created even more good chances in the second half, but conceded another from a throw on. Ben Squibb, Dean Ridgers, with a penalty, and Colin Bell, were among Bramley's goalscorers.

On the previous Tuesday night there were a number of matches played. The only game in Division Two saw Chineham go down 4-1 to in-form Bramley United.

Two quick goals in the first 10 minutes, dictated by Adam Bartlett, and a Neil Armstrong cross headed in by Dean Ridgers did the damage.

Ridgers struck again to make it 3-0 at half-time.

Kieron Alleyne reduced the deficit, but Tom Walsh fired a free kick into the top left hand corner, to secure Bradley's revenge for an early season league defeat.
