BASINGSTOKE Town boss Terry Brown has had his side working hard on defending set pieces this week in training.

Brown said:” Last week at King’s Lynn we have been undone by two set pieces and in recent weeks we seem unable to defend against them.

“So this is what we have worked hard on in training to stop us conceding and we had a good game against the Academy putting this into practice.”

“I think this is really going to help us on Saturday at St Ives, where we will be looking to get something out of the game as they are another team around us.”

This weekend, the Dragons will be looking to avenge a 2-0 defeat in early December in Basingstoke, but have doubts on midfield duo Dan Collier and Charlie Kennedy.

Brown said: “Both these boys have yet to train this week, but otherwise we have a full squad. it was always the plan last weekend at King’s Lynn for Matty Partridge and Rob Atkinson to play a half each. They both played an hour against the Academy boys, which was good. It is especially great to see Rob after so long out.”
