THE BASINGSTOKE Bison will look to maintain quest for the final piece of silverware on offer this weekend.

Their campaign to reach the play-off finals in Coventry, continues at Milton Keynes on Saturday, before a home game on Sunday evening (5.30pm) against the Swindon Wildcats.

Looking forward to the six game series, Bison head coach Doug Sheppard said: "The form in the regular season counts for nothing now. Everything is back to zero.

"We are playing good hockey at the moment and if we continue to do this I feel we make it to Coventry."

The Bison will be hoping to record their first victory of the season at Milton Keynes on Saturday, while Swindon will arrive on Sunday with last weekend's fresh in their minds.

Last night, the Bison opened their campaign with a very convincing 7-0 win over the Hull Pirates, their biggest ever play-off victory.

Captain Aaron Connolly led the scoring with a hat-trick and there was a brace from Dan Scott.

A shorthanded strike from Joe Miller and a goal for Ciaran Long completed the tally.

Meanwhile, at the end Tomas Hiadlovsky collected his seventh shut out for the team and is now tied with Curtis Cruickshank with the most shut-outs for the Herd.

Hiadlovsky turned away all 14 shots he faced to record the Bison's first home shut out in the play-offs since 1999.
