KENNET Osprey silver fish match at Willow Park Small Lake put Bartosz Recki on the winners podium yet again, fishing soft pellet at 14 metres, 24lb 10oz of roach and skimmers found their way into the sack.

John Light was second yet again with 19lb 13oz of mixed on pole and caster whilst Sean O’Donnel used pole and maggot for his 18lb 3oz, Graham Shadwell made up the frame on 17lb 2oz. All 22 caught.

Eighteen Adventure Angling Club members fished at Greenridge Farm on Sunday last where Tony Holdsworth sorted it best with 67lb 8oz of carp on pole ad pellet. Rob Gallagher caught 54lb 12oz of carp on pole and pellet, Gary Herman made third spot on 53lb 4oz followed by Kevin Holmes with 50lb 12oz. Eighteen fished, but three did not catch. Basingstoke Railway Piscatorials found themselves at Dandy’s Ford Fishery and after a few months absence from fishing Colin Ariss returned and won with 93lb of carp on pole and maggot, yours truly managed second place, netting 87lb 8oz of carp on pole and maggot.

Trevor Matthews also utilised pole and maggot for his 75lb 10oz whilst Rob Carr (superstar) finished fourth with 42lb 8oz. Twelve fished and caught.

Ralph Sneddon won the Camrose AC match at Mitch’s Lake in Tadley with 6lb 1oz of mixed on pole and caster.

Brian Orchard caught one carp and bits on pole and maggot for his 3lb 9oz whilst Jason Marcham netted 2lb 14oz. All six caught.

This coming Sunday, Adventure AS are at Bowsaw Lake, whilst Kennet Osprey go to Dandy’s Ford Fishery, Camrose AC will be visiting Frobury Farm Match Lake Two with Basingstoke Railway Club at Cheriton Farm on Sunday week.

The Basingstoke Championships will be on Stacey’s Angling Club lakes namely, Whitehouse, Old and New Barlows, Soke Road and Adventures lake Willow Pool at Bramley. Keith Brown is tasked with organising the event and it is hoped that the venue change will encourage more local anglers to participate. The date for the event will be September 17.
