The Hampshire captain fired an 18-ball 28 in an opening stand of 54 with Kurtis Patterson (38*) as Sydney Thunder thrashed the Sydney Sixers by eight wickets.
Vince hit three fours and a six over extra cover against former Hampshire teammate Jackson Bird in the first five overs of Thunder's reply to Sixers' 99 all out.
Former Hampshire star Shane Watson took 1-16 from his four overs for Thunder, who secured victory with ten overs remaining.
