HOOK cruised through to the last eight of the Hampshire Saturday Junior A Cup after beating Basingstoke United 6-2 at home. It took them 21 minutes to break down the opposition when Dave White finished off a move started by James Neville. United replied in the 37th minute through Joe Cook following a pass from Josh Lowther, but by half time White had restored Hook's lead.

Just after the hour mark, Dan Mouradian made it 3-1 from Kieran Farmer's cross.

Dan Framp added number four, before Josh Lowther pulled a goal back with a 25 yard chip. An own goal made it 5-2, before Framp wrapped up the scoring.

All four Basingstoke club made it through to the semi-finals of the Hampshire Junior B Cup, at the expense of their Isle of Wight opposition.

Labour Club travelled to Wroxall and won 2-1 with the winner an own goal a minute from time.

Labour manager Dan Poulter was far from happy with some of the decisions by the referee which led to his team having three players booked and Josh Dickens receiving a straight red card in the 50th minute.

Although the poor playing surface did not help, Wayne Barlow managed to play a good ball through to James McCallion who went on a good run and finished well.

After they went down to 10 men, the Islander equalised, before Barlow's corner was mishandled by the goalkeeper and this led to an own goal as a defender tried to clear. Overton United B could easily doubled the eight they scored against Brading Town Reserves. Scotty Winterbourne ran the show from midfield and it was his pass in the fourth minute which led to Kyle Buckland scoring. Buckland soon added another from a Watt Jones assist and completed his hat-trick after 48 minutes.

Jacob Barlow headed home a Josh Smith corner and he to went on to complete a hat-trick with two in the second half.

Overton will now play Labour Club away in the final four.

AFC Berg came back from 2-1 down against Sandown Reserves to win 5-2 at home. Mason Saunders gave them a 15th minute lead with a tremendous 30-yard strike.

Sandown then led 2-1, but Carlos Gonzales planted a free-kick into the top corner to level things and then converted a penalty after Saunders had been brought down. Berg extended their lead to 4-2 thanks Kieran Alleyne before the break.

Their fifth came 10 minutes from time as Alleyne scored again.

Winklebury Wizards had the hardest opposition against visitors Kyngs Towne, but won 5-2. It was a hard fought first half which finished 1-1, as Danny Costan scored from 30 yards out.

Early in the second half, Lagden made amends for his penalty miss in the first-half as he scored with a low drive.

Lagden and Richard Lowther completed the win to earn a home tie with AFC Berg in the last four.
