KINGSCLERE A won the Basingstoke and District Tennis League Men’s Division One title by virtue of winning three more games over the summer season after they finished level on points and sets won with Old Basing A.

Having beaten Overton A 6-2 the champions won their final match 7-1 against Andover B with Daniel Cole/Paul Rattue winning all their sets.

Old Basing drew their final game with Andover A, who finished in third spot, thanks to a maximum from James Chamberlain/Jamie Thomas.

Andover beat Beechdown A 5-3 and Totally Tennis A recorded an 8-0 win against Beechdown A and then beat Aldermaston 7-1.

A maximum from Liam Hignett/Kieran Heighes gave Overton A a 6-2 win against Aldermaston A.

There was an equally close affair in Division Two with three teams all finishing on the same number of points with RSF A won the division on sets won from Goodworth Clatford A and Hampshire Court A.

RSF won their final match 7-1 against Preston Candover and Goodworth secured second spot with wins against Waverley A 5-3 and RSF B 7-1.

Hampshire Court also finished with two wins against Goodworth Clatford A 6-2 and Winchester 7-1.

The Waverley A team beat both Winchester A and Odiham A 8-0 to complete their season with a strong finish. Their team against Winchester was Perveez Mirza/Luke Watts and Tony Vanderslott/Simon Mennear. Winchester A beat Kingsclere B 8-0.

With the Division three title already in the hands of Totally Tennis B, who finished with a draw at home against Beechdown B with Phil Banfield/Tim Williams getting a maximum for the visitors.

The fight for the runners-up spot eventually went to Old Basing B after they drew with Waverley B and the team of Mike Chamberlain/Mark Hammond and Brad Shaw/Harvey Loake beat Hook 8-0.

Hook finished in third place after beating Overton B 5-3 thanks to a maximum from Steve Preston/Alan Seabrooke and BDH 5-3.

BDH won 7-1 against Odiham B with David Burrell/Tony Leeper winning all their sets. Overton B beat Goodworth Clatford B 5-3 thanks to Eric McCann/Robin Taylor being undefeated.

Mortimer A secured the Division Four title after a win in their final match 6-2 against Oakley B with Nick Harris/Dave Thomas securing a maximum.

They had earlier beaten Hampshire Court B 7-1. The Oakley B team eventually finished tied for third place with Beechdown C losing out on the runners up spot to Winchester B on sets won.

Mike Luke/Jeremy Thatcher won all their sets for Sherborne in a 6-2 win at Oakley C and Martin Bridge/Keith Longman did the same for Beechdown C in their 5-3 win over Oakley C.

THE Basingstoke and District Tennis League Ladies Division One title went to Andover after they won their final match 6-2 at Aldermaston.

Oakley secured the runners up place after a good win at Aldermaston A.

Goodworth Clatford A and Old Basing A also won 6-2 against the Aldermaston team with Lisa Allen/Penny Luke winning all their sets for the Old Basing team.

Clare Munns and Andrea Butcher were unbeaten for Beechdown A in their 7-1 win against Overton.

Odiham A won the Division Two title with Winchester A taking runners up on sets won from RSF.

The RSF team drew at Aldermaston with Rosemary Boast/Nikki Lines getting a maximum for the home side and they beat Winchester A 6-2 in their final game with Tania Berechay/Lizzie Mottram being unbeaten.

Winchester B beat Mortimer 6-2 to secure their first win of the season.

The Odiham B side comfortably won Division Three winning all their matches and only dropping three sets the whole season. Goodworth Clatford B finished second and the final match in the division saw Whitchurch beat Old Basing B 6-2.

ANDOVER mixed team won the Basingstoke and District League Division One title for the fifth season in a row once again remaining unbeaten.

Their final match against Overton ended in a draw. The Beechdown A team finished in second place after wins against Oakley 6-2 and Overton A 7-1.

Old Basing A drew with Oakley A and lost to Overton A.

The Division Two title went to Old Basing B with a 6-2 win against Beechdown B. Odiham A were in runners up spot after they beat Oakley B 5-3.

In Division Three, RSF B and Whitchurch A finished level on points with RSF taking the title on sets won.

Their team of Clementina and John Tuck and Amanda Brundrett/Kevin Still finished the season with an 8-0 win at Mortimer.

A Luis Morris/Emma Longton maximum gave Whitchurch a 6-2 win in their final match.

The Preston Candover team of Steve Grove/Charlotte Whittle and Richard and Judith Mole gave them an 8-0 win against Kingsclere.

Hampshire Court completed their season with a 6-2 win at Kingsclere, before this they lost to Beechdown C 7-1.

Hook remained unbeaten for the season to take the Division Four title with Odiham B in the runners up spot from Beechdown D after they both finished on the same number of points.

Beechdown D won their final match 7-1 against Waverley with Joanna Newell-Kochli/Neil Witcombe winning all their sets.
