THE Basingstoke Bison have added more firepower to their forward line with the signing of top British forward Joe Miller.

The 31-year-old is no stranger to Basingstoke, having previous spent two and half seasons with the Herd between 2011 and 2014, before his move to the Telford Tigers, from where he returns.

He won the title with Shropshire side in his second season, the third time the forward has won the English Premier League crown.

When last in Basingstoke, Miller was the team's leading scorer in his first season netting 30 times.

He was also their top British goal scorer in season 13/14 with 25 goals to his name.

The sharp shooter will make his debut on Saturday, when the Bison face the Guildford Flames.

The Herd will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2-1 overtime loss in Blackpool against the Manchester Phoenix last night.

The Bison scored the only goal of the first 20 minutes from Tomas Karpov, and still led going into the final session.

Gareth O'Flaherty pulled levelled things at 47:05, but with no further scoring the game went into overtime, with the Bison shorthanded. This was after Karpov took a high sticking penalty at 58:44.

Manchester made the most of the extra man, as Edgars Bebris scored on the powerplay.
