THE Basingstoke Bison will look to make it seven straight wins when they entertain the Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday (6.30pm).

Then on Sunday evening (6pm), the Herd travel to Surrey for a local derby game with the Guildford Flames.

The Bison have already beaten the Steeldogs in Basingstoke this season, so this game is only a league game, while Sunday's encounter is the Herd's first league visit to Guildford, so counts towards both the cup and league.

The Herd have no injury worries going into the weekend and Bison head coach Doug Sheppard is looking for his side to carry on their winning run and said: "We beat Sheffield last time, but they were minus two imports, so it will be more difficult this time."

"Guildford are desperate at the moment having lost both games last weekend and it looks like it will be between Swindon, Guildford and ourselves for the last place in the semi-finals - so this is a massive game."

The Bison come into the weekend in fine form after beating the Manchester Phoenix 7-2, in the club's first ever trip to Blackpool and their biggest away win of the campaign so far.

Dan Davies and Vanya Antonov both scored braces, while their were singles strikes from Derek Roehl, Grant Rounding and Rene Jarolin.
