ODIHAM hockey star Alex Danson and her Great Britain team mates will contest the fifth and sixth placed against New Zealand today (2pm) in the Champions Trophy.
This was after they lost to Australia 4-1, after the visitors never looked back after scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes.
The home side pulled a goal back from Sophie Bray, but Australia scored twice more to complete a comprehensive win.
The victory means they will now meet the USA for the bronze medal game, before the Netherlands and Argentina contest the final.
In GB’s previous group game on Thursday night, GB suffered a disappointing 2-0 against the USA.
Danson had a couple of chances for the home nation, including one where she fired just wide after beating two defenders.
