Jimmy Adams made 169 as Hampshire drew their Second Eleven Championship match against Gloucestershire at May's Bounty, Basingstoke.

The former Hampshire captain shared an opening stand of 94 with Joe Weatherley (53) as Hampshire made 396-6 after losing the toss.

Captain Will Smith was out for 18 but Adams put on 168 in 37 overs with top prospect Felix Organ (70) before Ryan Stevenson bludgeoned an unbeaten 44 from 37 balls.

Gloucestershire made 335-5 in reply, with Will Tavare (nephew of Chris) making 170, as rain limited the match to an innings apiece.
