This weekend Basingstoke Town Football Club are playing host to 44 teams and over 560 players in the club's first ever youth tournament the Camrose Cup.

There are teams travelling from Norwich, Milton Keynes and Eastbourne to name a few.

the format of the tournament will see the teams of under-eight to under-11s playing on Saturday morning and afternoon.

The late afternoon and evening entertainment on the first day will see 11-a-side under-13 games.

then on Sunday the morning will see the under-14 sides in action, before the under-15s take over.

The day will finish with the under-16s in action The standard of the tournament promises to be high with many teams attending having excelled in their grass roots leagues.

As well as grass roots clubs there are teams from the Junior Premier League, which Basingstoke are members of. The club have had interest from some professional clubs and they will also be in attendance.

The tournament will take place this coming weekend with both days having a busy schedule. The games get underway at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday with games being played until 8.30pm under the floodlights at the Camrose.

Adam Clark who has organised the tournament said: "It has taken a lot of planning and work to get where we are now, but we are all looking forward to this event. There are some great teams attending who have big reputations in their respective leagues.

"Having great football on show will be a joy to watch and it will be great for all teams taking part to form new relationships. We are hoping this is the first of many tournaments at the Camrose.”

Support is wecome throughout the weekend and parking will be free with admission prices being £3 per adult, £1 for under 16's and under 10's going free. All paying customers will receive a programme.
