TINO Best will make his Hampshire debut against Middlesex on Sunday - and Jimmy Adams will make his first appearance of the season.

Best has been signed to as a replacement for Fidel Edwards, who broke his ankle while playing football at Headingley last week.

Hampshire are also without Gareth Berg (knee), Ryan Stevenson (back), Reece Topley (broken hand) and Brad Taylor (ankle).

Liam Dawson is available to bat but not bowl after suffering an abdominal strain at Headingley.

But Sean Ervine (finger) Jimmy Adams (ankle), Chris Wood (knee) have all recovered from recent injuries.

New signing Craig Young is expected to play for Hampshire 2nds next week after being left out of the 14.

Director of cricket Giles White said: "Tino has settled in well - he played for the seconds this week and bowled with pace and skill.

"There have been some good individual performances in the first two matches and something to build on, but as always we’ll look to keep improving and get some results on the board."
