A BRACE of goals from club captain Aaron Connolly helped the Basingstoke Bison snap their two game losing streak with a 4-0 victory over local rivals the Bracknell Bees at the Hive.

Jon Baston recorded his second shut out for the Herd this month as he made 40 saves on his way to the man of the match award.

The Herd were minus former Bracknell forwards Grant Rounding and Alan Lack and had Joe Rand back in the line-up for Tomas Karpov.

The first goal of the game came in the second period, as Connolly netted his first of the evening shorthanded as Joe Baird sat out a kneeing penalty.

The Bison doubled their lead seven minutes from time as Joe Rand netted from Joe Baird and then within a minute Connolly grabbed a third.

A late penalty on Stuart Mogg saw the Bees pull their netminder, but the Bison player returned to ice and scored into the empty net to complete the 4-0 scoreline.

The Herd are next in action on Boxing Day (5.45pm) when they travel to the Swindon Wildcats.
