ODIHAM’S Nick Foster will return to the British Touring Car Championship at Rockingham this weekend.

Andy Priaulx misses the event due to GT commitments and Foster has been chosen to replace him in the West Surrey Racing team.

The Odiham driver tested in the team’s BMW at Donington Park this week and is looking forward to his return at a track where he enjoyed a hat-trick of points finishes in 2013.

Foster said: “I am really looking forward to getting back out on the track, seeing many familiar faces and old friends in BTCC.

“I like Rockingham and the car felt really good at Donington.

“It has certainly moved on since last season and is a lot nicer to drive.

“I know it is not going to be easy this weekend, but we are doing everything we can to make it as successful as possible.”

He will once again have Hook’s Rob Collard as a team mate and he, along with son Ricky Collard, will be searching for more glory after they both won last time out at Knockhill.

Rob Collard won the opening race and bagged second spot in race two, before a puncture ended his final outing early.

However, the points haul he collected in the first two races moved him up to ninth in the drivers’ championship.

Last year, the Hook driver managed two top 10 places at Rockingham and he is confident he will go even better on the Northamptonshire track this time around.

Collard said: “It is a circuit where tyre wear is a real issue for the front wheel drive cars and I think we can again be challenging for podiums as the BMW seems to going well at every track at the moment.”

Rob’s son Ricky Collard was victorious in the final race of the MSA Formula Championship at Knockhill, his fourth win of the year.

This saw him wrestle back the drivers’ championship lead from nearest rival Lando Norris.

All of the BTCC races will be shown live on ITV4 on Sunday.
