THE North Hants Road Club Open 25-mile time-trial attracted a high-quality field of cyclists, producing some exceptional times.
Two riders who finished in the top-10 at national championship over the same distance, which took place earlier this month, went head-to-head at the event, which was held on the A31 near Bentley.
Farnham Road Club's James Boyman, who finished eighth at the nationals, claimed first place with a new personal-best performance of 49min 20sec.
The result was something of a turnaround as second-placed Rob Sharland (Paceline RT) had finished sixth when the pair met a few weeks earlier. However, there wasn't much in it, with Sharland stopping the clock at 49:24.
Nick English (Banjo Cycles.com) was third in 50:36, while Kate McNeill (www.drag2zero.com) was the top woman, stopping the clock at 56:41.
Jonathan Hobby was the fastest North Hants rider in 55:11, with Mandy Hibberd the fastest home woman in 1:03:19.
