HAMPSHIRE are likely to be up against Imran Tahir when they play a potentially crucial final LV County Championship match of the season against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
The former Hampshire leg-spinner has replaced the injured Ben Hilfenhaus as Notts’ overseas player.
South Africa international Tahir, 36, will miss Notts’ One-Day Cup match against Hampshire in the final round of group games on August 19, when Dan Christian is likely to deputise.
But he will be available for the last month of the season, which ends with Notts hosting his former county from September 22-25.
Tahir took 130 wickets at 25.46 in 29 first-class matches for Hampshire from 2008-14.
