ODIHAM and Greywell Cricket Club’s under-11s have completed a hat-trick of Hampshire Cup victories.

They beat St Cross Symondians by 23 runs in the final at the home ground of their opponents to become the third successive Odiham and Greywell side to lift the trophy.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first in the final, Odiham scored 138-6 from their 20 overs.

Opener Jack Pocock top scored with 30 not out, and there were other significant contributions from George O’Connor (26), Max Guibeleguiet (24), Arthur Johnson (21) and Rollo Harrap (17).

St Cross’ reply was led by opener Jude Organ, who made 35 not out, but as the required run-rate rose, risks had to be taken and there were five run-outs as the home side were bowled out for 115.

The leading Odiham bowler was captain Harrap (3-24), while Arthur Johnson and Sam Jefferson each claimed one victim.

The Odiham youngsters reached the final with a crushing 113-run victory over Pylewell Park in the last four.

Batting first, Odiham ran up a huge total of 183-2 from their 20 overs, with O’Connor, Pocock, George Acheson-Gray and Guibeleguiet all retired after reaching 30.

They then bowled Pylewell Park out for 70, with Jack Janaway (3-8 off three overs) the pick of the bowlers.

Odiham’s under-13s, were the first of the three under-11 county champion teams for the club back in 2013, were runners-up in the under-13 county cup for the second year running.

They played Fair Oak in the final and things didn’t go to plan, with Odiham losing by nine wickets.
