FORWARD Manny Williams has become the 15th player to sign for Basingstoke Town ahead of the 2015-16 season.

The 33-year-old, who has scored 36 goals in 102 appearances since joining Town in December 2012, has signed a new one-year deal at The Soccer AM Stadium.

Basingstoke manager Jason Bristow said: "Manny's another important signing for us. He's vastly intelligent and his experience is invaluable to the squad.

"Alongside this, he's a very popular character and has a good rapport with everyone connected to the club, which is an important factor. We're glad to have him back on board for the coming season."

Williams joined the club as a striker, but played in a deeper role last season and was a key member of the squad that finished third in the Conference South.

He becomes the 13th member of that squad to re-sign, with ex-Reading midfielder James Harper also expected to return for pre-season. Goalkeeper Aaron Howe and versatile defender Will Salmon are the only new additions so far.
