READING have made their first new signing of the summer, bringing in Portuguese international striker Orlando Sa.

The 27-year-old, who has joined on a three-year contract, moves to the Madejski Stadium from Polish side Legia Warsaw for an undisclosed fee.

Reading manager Steve Clarke said: "The striking department was one area of the team that everyone agreed needed strengthening this season.

"Orlando's goal record is really impressive and he is motivated to prove that his previous spell in England with Fulham came too early in his career.

"He is a strong player who leads the line well and has an eye for goal. I'm sure he will be a big asset to the squad this season."

Sa came through the ranks at Portuguese side Braga before joining Porto in 2009. He moved on to National the next year before signing for Fulham in 2011, where he managed one goal in 12 appearances.

He then spent two seasons in Cyprus with AEL Limassol before joining Legia Warsaw last February, scoring 15 goals in 42 games for the Polish outfit.

Sa is Reading's first new signing of the season, but the club also got a boost last week, with talented young winger Tariqe Fosu putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal.
