PHIL Watts continued his excellent form as he was the fastest cyclist in North Hampshire Road Club’s latest10 mile time trial.

The race took place on the popular Bentley course between Farnham and Alton on the A31.

Watts completed the course in 21min 14sec, while Farnham’s Sam Orbell (21:30) and Jonathan Hobby (21:39) were second and third.

The fastest lady was Tracey Cornell in a time of 25:10.

In the club’s first club 25 mile time trial of the year on the same course, Watts (54:31) made easy work of the tough windy conditions.

He won by nearly two minutes, holding off strong performances from Hobby (56:22) and Newbury’s Nick Onslow (56.55).

North Hampshire riders also completed in the Charlotteville 50 mile open time trial, with the Bentley-based course again the venue.

Watts (1:51:27) had an exceptional ride, finishing 11th overall and setting a new club record for the distance.

The winner was High Wycombe CC’s Adam Topham, who clocked 1:42:18.

Other North Hampshire riders who took part were Hobby (1:56:14), Mandy Hibberd (2:18:02) and Brian Smith (2:23:09).
