ANDY DORMAN says he won't allow speculation linking him with a move to Ibrox distract him in this weekend's Homecoming Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers.

The St Mirren star is in demand after scoring 11 goals for Gus MacPherson's side this season - making him the most prolific midfielder in the SPL.

Reports today also claimed Celtic are interested in the 26-year-old but SportTimes understands the Parkhead club will not be making any moves for Dorman in the summer.

Rangers are definitely interested in taking Dorman to Ibrox in the summer as he prepares to enter the final year of his contract at St Mirren.

Manager Walter Smith, Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall watched him in action last week when he netted a wonder goal against Hibs. But Dorman said today: "I don't pay any attention to it whatsoever. I'm fully focusing on playing football between now and the end of the season.

"We have a massive game this weekend against Rangers, then have a string of crucial league games, and that is getting my undivided attention for now."

A transfer fee of £750,000 has been mentioned for Dorman.

But it's believed St Mirren will be holding out for more than that figure, as they reluctantly prepare to part company with a player they signed from American side New England Revolution for nothing a year and a half ago.

Before Smith can bring in anyone to Rangers in the summer, he will have to offload a string of players to reduce the wage bill at the club.

Davie Weir, Brahim Hemdani and Christian Dailly are all out of contract at the end of the season and the likelihood is all three will move on.

Barry Ferguson, Lee McCulloch, Kris Boyd, DaMarcus Beasley and Stevie Smith will all enter the final year of their contracts and the club are expected to try and move them all on in a bid to rake in cash to ease bank debts.

It's understood Kirk Broadfoot - who also has a year to run on his current deal to run - has been told he is free to join a new club as his deal won't be getting extended when it expires in 2010.

Charlie Adam and Alan Gow - who are out on loan at Blackpool and Norwich - have also been instructed to try and find new clubs.

Meanwhile, Stephen Hughes has not ruled out staying at Motherwell beyond the summer - despite speculation linking him with a return to Rangers.

Hughes is out of contract at Fir Park at the end of the season and has been linked with a return to the club who sold him to Leicester for £100,000 back in 2005.

Despite Well failing to land a top six place, the 26-year-old midfielder has once again impressed this season and has caught Smith's eye.

Several Coca-Cola Championship clubs, including Derby and Nottingham Forest, are also believed to be interested in securing his services.

However, Hughes's representative John Colquhoun stressed that he has received no contact from either Smith or Rangers Chief Executive Martin Bain.

And he confirmed the player, who has a young family and is keen to remain in Scotland, could be prepared to stay where he is.

He said: "Stephen is keeping his options open at the moment, but he likes playing at Motherwell and enjoys working under the manager there. Hopefully, we will get things sorted out in the coming weeks."
