ALEX McLeish has hinted that Craig Gordon could still be his No.1 choice for Scotland, even if the keeper is left out in the cold at Tynecastle.
Gordon, the only one of the Riccarton Three' left at the club, has been out of the squad for Hearts' last two games and is embroiled in the controversy blighting the Edinburgh club.
Hearts tried to offload him during the January transfer window and it's doubtful he'll be a Hearts player beyond the summer.
"The Craig Gordon situation is not ideal, but, having spoken to him, there is a big mature lad there," said McLeish. "He's got (goalkeeping coach) Jim Stewart keeping him fit in terms of training.
"If he's still not playing by March 24, I've been assured by both of them there will be no problem playing him."
