TADLEY Hockey Club men ended their season on a high as they dented Camberley and Farnborough III’s promotion ambitions.
The game was characterised by the excellent defending of Tadley’s Stuart Macklin and Peter Stickland.
The skilful Camberley side were left frustrated by the more experienced and physical Tadley team.
Wave after wave of home attacks were repelled by a resolute blockade, with Paul Bourne keeping a precious clean sheet.
Tadley scored the only goal of the match against the run of play, with a sublime finish from the prolific Dom Tallent.
The victory saw Tadley finish fourth in the Hampshire Division Eight table, tied on points with second-placed Haslemere IV and Camberley, but with a poorer goal difference.
The loss leaves Camberley needing a point from their final game to secure promotion.
