SAM Argent’s goal just before half-time was enough to earn Hartley Wintney FC a much-needed win over Spelthorne Sports last night.
Hartley went into the game on the back of four consecutive defeats, but Argent’s strike and some good saves from goalkeeper Craig Atkinson earned them a victory over sixth-placed Spelthorne at the Memorial ground.
The result leaves Hartley seventh in the table, but they are without a game this weekend. Their next fixture is on Tuesday night, when they host bottom-of-the-table Guildford City.
Tadley Calleva’s trip to Andover New Street in Wessex League Division One was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. They return to action with a trip to Ringwood Town on Saturday.
