DANNY Houseman scored a last-minute equaliser to earn Overton United a point from their trip to Hampshire Premier League strugglers Hedge End Rangers on Saturday.

Overton manager Titch Bloomfield admitted that it was a lacklustre performance from his side, who trailed at half-time, Hedge End finding the net despite strong claims of offside from the away team.

Both goalkeepers were forced into action after the break and it took a good save from Overton’s Sean O’Brien to keep his side in the game late on.

The visitors pulled level in the final minute, Houseman bundling the ball over the line during a goalmouth scramble, and with no further scoring, the teams were forced to share the points.

Overton, who sit eighth in the table, host another struggling side, Liss Athletic, this weekend.
