TADLEY rugby stars Abbie Parsons and Devon Holt helped England under-20s to a 25-10 victory over the Army at Aldershot last week.
Prop Parsons started the game in the number one shirt, playing the entire first half before being replaced on 48 minutes. Holt, named on the bench, came on for winger Matilda Vaughan-Fowler after just 13 minutes.
The Army took an early lead, but a converted try and a penalty had England 10-5 ahead. A second Army try levelled the scores, but a successful penalty put England 13-10 in front at half-time.
Holt went close to scoring early in the second half, being stopped just short of the line, but team-mate Olivia Jones was on hand to dot the ball down, with the conversion and a further try completing the scoring.
The match was good preparation for England, who face a trip to France this weekend. Holt will start at scrum-half, while Parsons is on the bench.
