UWS won a seven-goal thriller against visiting Chineham to claim their first win in five Basingstoke and District Sunday League Division Two outings.

Jake Williams scored twice for UWS, with Mark Thompson and Nathan Glasgow also finding the net. Finley Thompson, Dave Emerson and Kieron Alleyne replied.

Brett Denham hit a hat-trick as New Inn beat Oakley Reserves 4-2, while leaders FC Everest maintained their position at the top of the table with a 6-0 win over Hampshire Irons.

In Division ThreeEastrop Eagles moved a step closer to the title with a 3-1 win over Chineham Athletic. Keith Davies, Paul Adams and Ally Crump were on target for Eastrop, with Joe Richardson netting Chineham’s consolation goal.

Team FC enjoyed a comfortable 7-1 victory over Soldiers Return Reserves.

Team took the lead with a penalty after just five minutes and were three goals to the good at half-time. Josh Buckingham pulled one back for Soldiers early in the second half, but Team scored four more to run out big winners.

Dayer's Fine Foods and Kaiser Wessex played out a 1-1 draw in Division One.

After a goalless first half, Kaiser went ahead midway through the second period, Andrew Gethings netting the rebound having seen his initial effort saved by Dayer’s goalkeeper John Grocock.

Alex Brown levelled for the visitors with 15 minutes to go, heading home a free-kick, and Dayer’s had chances to win the game late on, with one effort hitting the crossbar, but the sides had to settle for a point apiece.

Republic of Chineham won 7-1 away at Lamb Inn in a top-of-the-table clash that resulted in Republic going above their hosts to lead the way.

Oakley got off to a fast start at home to Basingstoke Saints, scoring twice in the first five minutes. They went on to lead by four at the break and added a fifth in the second half, with Saints unable to reply.

Jake McKinnon and Myles Englefield both bagged braces, with Grant Powell also on the scoresheet for Oakley.
