HAL Robson-Kanu’s late winner booked Reading a place in the FA Cup fifth round, thanks to a 2-1 win at Cardiff.
Sub Robson-Kanu fired home Jordan Obita’s cross with two minutes left in the tie.
Earlier, Cardiff had taken the lead after Kenwyne Jones met Peter Whittingham’s corner with a powerful header after 25 minutes.
Despite chances from both teams the Welsh side still only led 1-0 at half-time.
Reading equalised just after the hour mark, thanks to Oliver Norwood’s 20-yard free kick and then Robson-Kanu scored the winner.
Reading boss Steve Clarke said: “I am now looking forward to see who we get in the next round.”
The draw for the FA Cup fifth round will take place tomorrow night during the One Show.
Reading return to league action on Tuesday night, when they face a trip to Championship strugglers Millwall (kick-off 7.45).
