BASINGSTOKE Royals remain top of the Basingstoke and District Saturday League Premier Division after winning 4-1 away at Bramley United.

Goals from James McIntosh and Ashley Taylor had Royals two up at the break, while Nick Willcock’s quick-fire brace took the tally to four before the hour. Sam Cato scored a late consolation for the hosts.

Rising Sun DC and Hook shared eight goals and two red cards!

The returning Mark Beagley headed Hook ahead early on and while Ben Nicholls levelled direct from a free-kick, Beagley’s second restored the Hook lead.

Richard Kalwarczyk got a second equaliser for Rising Sun before both sides were reduced to 10 men, with Sun’s Sam Nicholls and Hook’s Dave Rees shown straight reds after a confrontation.

Ben Nicholls had Hook ahead again, only for Aaron King to level from the penalty spot, but Hook must have thought they had won the game when Jon Noakes made it 4-3. However, Rising Sun came up with a dramatic fourth equaliser late on, substitute Damian Smith earning his side a point.

Overton United A are five points clear at the top of Division One after a 3-1 win over visiting Hook Reserves. Hook scored first from Jack McGee, but Lee Corson soon levelled and second-half goals from Siyanni Thomas and John Sayers gave Overton the points.
