CHINEHAM Lions maintained their unbeaten home record with a 27-3 victory over local rivals Overton at Castle Field on Saturday.

The visitors arrived hoping for revenge after being knocked out of the Hampshire Plate by the same opposition two weeks earlier, but Chineham took an early lead, prop Olly Wood going over from a driving maul.

They never looked back, with Chris Ford and Jonty Moody also crossing the line as the hosts strolled to an ultimately comfortable victory.

The result leaves Chineham third in the Hampshire Two table, while Overton are sixth. Chineham travel to Romsey in the next round of the Hampshire Plate this weekend, while Overton are without a game.

Kingsclere remain ninth after losing 55-10 at home to fifth-placed Fawley last weekend. They are not in action on Saturday.

Tadley Tigers were unable to extend their winning run to three games in London Two South West, losing 58-10 away at high-flying Tottonians.

The hosts led 34-3 at half-time and while Tadley managed to score while reduced to 13 men after the break, they were unable to stage an unlikely comeback.

They remain 10th in the table but are without a game this weekend.

Aldermaston sit sixth in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championship after losing 12-3 at home to fourth-placed Harwell. A Kyle Gregory penalty had Aldermaston in front early on, but that was as good as it got for the hosts, who were 5-3 down at half-time and conceded a converted try in the second half.

They also have a free weekend coming up.
