THE Basingstoke Disabled Games once again proved to be a great success, as teams from right across the south of England took part.
The event, which has now been running for 39 years, was held at Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College and saw more than 80 competitors take part from Gosport, Aylesbury and London – as well as host club Basingstoke Dis-Sport Beavers.
Organiser of the event, Julian Thomas, said: “We had extra events this year for the Basingstoke Blind Club and everyone enjoyed the day.
“I must thank all the helpers as without them the event would not be possible.”
Next year’s games will be the event’s 40th anniversary and Thomas is hoping it will be a special event for Basingstoke Dis-Sport.
They will be fund-raising with this in mind and the club are also on the look-out for sponsors and anyone wishing to help can contact organiser Julian Thomas on 07590 430082.
