RYAN Evans was again on target with the opener in Basingstoke Athletic’s 3-1 win at AFC Aldermaston A in the Basingstoke and District Division Two.

Evans combined with Dale Bristow to slot past goalkeeper Darren Heath, before Andy Hynes replied for Aldermaston.

Dave Trevelion’s lob saw the visitors ahead by the break and 10 minutes from time Nathan Read came up with their third.

Preston Candover won again, this week away to Sherborne St John Reserves 4-1.

Mark Oram put away the first from Clayton Deacon’s corner after 25 minutes. Andrew Carr beat goalkeeper Joe White with an in-swinging corner to level.

Sherborne goalkeeper Russell Hancock brought down Tommy Black and Kyle Buckland put away the penalty before half-time.

Dave Purt hit the bar for Sherborne and then Ben Coe made it 3-1 after Rob Stait’s free-kick hit the post.

Buckland scored his second following a through ball from Black.

Bounty United are off the mark with a 3-2 win at AFC Berg.

Steve Eyles converted Phil Case’s cross after 15 minutes and then Matt Love muscled his way through to score Bounty’s second.

Eyles added a third before the break, after Mike Gilham’s defence splitting pass.

Berg improved and were handed a lifeline when Craig Williamson headed a cross from Spencer Kirby into his own net.

Bounty then conceded a penalty, but a fine save from Richard Vinn denied Matt Goodman.

Berg did score a second thanks to Goodman’s lob six minutes from time.

Division Two newcomers Basingstoke United managed a point this week, after a 2-2 draw with Overton United B.

They took a first minute lead when Ashley Pearce latched onto Sam Barton’s pass.

Sami Aldoori equalised from 20 yards out, but United regained the lead through Sam Barton.

Overton equalised thanks to 16-year-old substitute Liam Randal, following a good pass from Logan Bond.

Winklebury Wizards made it two wins from two as they beat Herriard Sports 4-0.

Herriard started brightly and Martin Miles had a strong header well saved by Darren Gilbanks, while Terry Kimber cleared Sam Weber’s effort off the line.

Herriard thought they had taken the lead when Craig Lewington scored from a free-kick, but he was made to retake it and it was off target.

Wizards got over the early onslaught and Lee Garrett hit the bar before Hugo Carlos gave them the lead from a Josh Hickey pass on 40 minutes.

Carlos added a second with 30-yard strike and Scotty Winterbourne made it 3-0.

Carlos completed his hat trick with the last kick of the game.
