Morgan Schneiderlin says he remains committed to Saints and has told supporters he would never disrespect them.

The French midfielder proved to be a hugely influential presence at West Ham this afternoon, scoring twice as Ronald Koeman’s men came from a goal down to win 3-1.

Before the season began, though, it had looked uncertain whether or not Schneiderlin would remain a part of the team, particularly after an outburst on Twitter that followed the board telling the Tottenham target he would not be sold.

Schneiderlin had written: “6 years of an amazing journey #saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour !!!”

However, the 24-year-old has since accepted the club’s stance and has started each of their three Premier League games so far this season.

After today’s match, he said: “Of course, there was a lot of talk, a lot of things going on.

Southampton made it clear that they didn’t want to let me go, that they refused some offers.

“I’m not here to speculate about anything, but like I always said in the first six years the fans in the club have been very good with me.

“If someone felt that I disrespected the club by saying the things that I said, I want to say to the fans that I would never disrespect the fans, because I have a lot of respect. They’ve been very nice with me for six years.

“I can say sorry. But my job now is to show on the pitch that I am committed to Southampton, that I play my best – that’s the most important thing for me.”

France international Schneiderlin, who was speaking in an interview with the club, added: “That win was very important for us. Today we wanted to make a statement.

“It’s never easy to come to West Ham and put in a performance like we did, so we are very happy to play so well.

“We had a good performance, but the main thing was the character of the team."

Fantastic news, out of all the players MS would of been the one that I would have been the most upset to see leave, he is a fantastic player and the one I think we would have struggled the most to find a like for like replacement. He is the back-bone of the team and today showed why the other clubs want him so bad. So happy with the result and even moreso now with this fantastic news. Well done Morgan, it must have been difficult but you have showed how to act, professionally and with respect, you won't regret it. We are the Saints! March On!

The way you have perfomed for the club and fans in the first three games of this season have been an insight into your character . You my son are a SAINT that we are all proud to watch on the field of play. Your goals today were the first of many this season i am sure and if you do still leave, i will thank you for the way you have conducted yourself every time you have pulled on a SAINTS shirt. He has earned back my full respect. I can understand that he was concerned about what was going on at our club, we were too. He did throw his toys out of the pram. But he has come back fully committed. I had a sneaky feeling he may go as the transfer window shuts and wondered if those two goals today would be the last we saw of him. But it's really great to hear this and indicates he's accepted he cannot leave, I think we all realise he will get his move to a 'bigger club' but I'm now in no doubt he will remain professional and committed whilst with us.

The Mirror and most other rags suggested he is being sold to Arsenal and the deal is in the early stages, Graham, North of Watford has suggested he'll be sold today? (maybe also the view Bob Dylan?), 03alpe01 says he will stay until January and then be sold, RonKo seems to be saying he will be staying for the foreseeable future, Morgan says at the moment he is staying at SFC but doesn't wish to speculate on his future....so who would you believe?
My opinion is he is happy to stay at least till January, when again I think talks will resume, the fact that he mentions his international duty and then mentions the fact that on his return he will be focused on the next home game with the magpies at St Mary's tells me he's not going in this window atleast.
Also stated in the newspapers this weekend was that Lallana was set to make his debut against his former manager at white hart lane, he wasn't even on the bench?
Also reported was that Pochettino was ready for the visit of Liverhampton and up for a scrape, Liverpool win 3-0?
SaintsFC again report that Tottenham are refusing to sell highly rated winger Andros Townsend, today against Liverhampton Townsend was brought on by Pochettino to try and change the flow of the game, within minutes he lost possession to Moreno whom ran the length of the pitch and scored, Spurs highly rated winger looks mediocre at best?
Louvren gets mugged by Adebayor and pulls him down in the box and is very lucky not to give away a penalty and get sent off?
Saints put on a great display to make West Ham look ordinary and come back from 1-0 down to win the game 1-3 with there highly rated french midfielder scoring a brace and the new striker Pelle opening his PL account with his first goal which should have been two but was wrongly ajudged to be offside, though the display was very encouraging for the new Saints forward.

So not all bad news for the SFC is it....lol
So not all bad news for the SFC is it....lol rednwhite72

Until January!
I too feel the same. Bet he has some clause in his contract or a gentlemen' s agreement to leave in January. That's what I got out of his interview on MOTD. Just have to wait and see. If he does go in January we
will probably get 30m as his value will go up in the mean time due to all the goals he will score as well as the assists he will make. We too can buy in January.

Effing Wenger!
C'mon Barnet. We've just a great week of football and it's all been good from the management. Add to that we've had the opposition players talking up our players. And Spyder has said that for the time being at least he's a Saints players. Don't burst the bubble just yet mate please. This is the best week for months let's make it last as long as we can.

Sorry to be the gloom monger - but did you see MOTD?
His interview was unequivocal - he will play his best because he is under contract. Hello !!! What do you think will happen then?

Oh well if he plays as well as he has been then good luck to him - he served us brilliantly thorugh the finest come back to the Premier League anyone has ever seen. If we get another few months out of him and he performs we will make some money and move on.
