Francis Benali has been joined by best friend and former teammate Matt Le Tissier as he continues his epic 1,000-mile run around the country.

Benali is attempting to visit all 20 Premier League grounds during his three-week challenge, and has received support today from his fellow Saints legend.

Having reached Burnley yesterday, Benali is now on his way to Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United on Saturday.

Le Tissier travelled north this morning to link up with the 45-year-old, who is running for between 40 and 50 miles each day and is approaching the end of his first week on the road.

Donations towards Benali's Big Run, which is raising funds for Cancer Research UK, have now topped the £35,000 mark.

You can follow his progress on Twitter and by visiting benalisbigrun.com

To donate, go to justgiving.com/BenalisBigRun or text BIGR55 followed by the amount you would like to donate to 70070.

For example, if you want to donate £10, text BIGR55 £10 to 70070

Not so -I have it on good authority that he was not far away from St Francis on the endurance training.
Must get a dig in about him doing the 'glory leg' though, perhaps that new ManU left back could put a stint in to aid his recovery?

Fair play to the pair of them, p!ss taking apart, any money raised for charity is a good thing. Have to say though, how can Fatt Letossier run and keep his nose from rubbing on the ground, arguably the ugliest footballer who ever graced the top league !

Both great lads and a reminder to those people who slag off Kruegar and Reed that Nicola Cortese BANNED both these legends and nice guys from St Mary's. I prefer to be run by people like Kruegar who respects our past, rather than being an albeit successful ego maniac like Cortese. Sorry about the rant, I had a few drinks this evening.

On the grounds of balance I have to challenge you on this, we've had some Uglier ones Inside the same team as Matty, and I know most other teams have too, and your mates tell me you're no picture, you name calling 2 at!
