BASINGSTOKE Golf Club member Steve Dunford is celebrating after ending a 29-year wait for his first hole-in-one at the club.

The 61-year-old, who plays off a handicap of 13, scored his ace on the 164-yard par-three 17th, becoming the latest north Hampshire golfer to win a limited-edition BOSS watch in recognition of his achievement.

Dunford said: “I hit a sweet six-iron that landed at the front of the green, took a couple of bounces and then fell in on the last roll. It was my first-ever ace in 29 years of playing at Basingstoke.”
