HARTLEY Wintney slipped out of the promotion spots in the Southern League Division Two, after they suffered a rare seven wicket defeat at OTs and Romsey.
The home side won the toss and elected to bowl and it looked good for Hartley, as Jack Hersh (32) and Daniel Plume (58) moved them onto 61-1.
The village side then lost three wickets for just one run, and the innings never really got going after this, with only Matt Digweed (24) contributed to an all out total of 153.
The home side found life a lot easier on a drier pitch, as they reached 157-3, with opener Jody Brown (46) top scoring well supported by Robert Newman (41).
Chris Jolley, Mark Teale and Jamie Teale all took one wicket each.
With Sparsholt winning at Calmore Sports they moved into second spot pushing Hartley down to third.
This weekend, Hartley are at home to mid-table Portsmouth, while Sparsholt entertain relegation threatened Toton & Eling II.
