BASINGSTOKE golfer Stuart Archibald claimed his first victory on the EuroPro Tour for more than two years in Ireland this afternoon.
The 30-year-old from Worting went into the final round of The Walk in My Shoes Open at Mount Wolseley one shot off the lead held by James Watts after shooting 68 (-4) and 65 (-7) on the first two days.
Today, he birdied his second hole and while he made bogey at the third, further birdies at holes four, five and 12 put him in the lead as Watts faded.
Archibald then held his nerve to make par at the final six holes and card a three-under-par round of 69 to win the event by two shots.
See next week's Gazette for more on Archibald's victory in Ireland.
