ODIHAM’S hockey star Alex Danson is still on course to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, after a 2-1 winner-takes-all victory over hosts Scotland this morning.
This sets up a semi-final clash with New Zealand on Friday, for a chance to go for gold the following day.
Danson scored her third goal of the tournament to give England the lead after 15 minutes against the Scots.
Susannah Townsend doubled the advantage, before Scotland’s Nikki Kidd pulled a goal back just before the break.
The second-half saw the home side pile on the pressure, but they were unable to add to their tally as England won.
