So Lovren who likes singing You,ll never walk alone has finally got his wish. I've never known a summer like this with our best players all wanting to leave and still believe the hand of Cortese or MP could be unsettling the players. I agree with RK that we only want players who want to play for us but we do need to get some quality reinforcements in soon or we will have a team of complete strangers for the first match against Liverpool which I would dearly love to win. So come on Saints. We have the money so cheer us up with some good news for a change.
Who cares about the money in Ms Liebherrs back pocket , all our best players are being sold . Players of Lovren's quality are impossible to replace .
Then how did we manage to find him in the first place then? Difficult to replace and I'm with you, impossible? Get a grip of yourself man. Ms Liebherr is welcome to whatever money she wants to take - it is her club after all. I suspect all of the transfer money will go back into the club in one form or another. Pay off debts, bring in another intake of youngsters, establish a club or academy in the states (which we are apparently in the process of setting up) possibly bringing in another player or two.
Our best players are not so much being sold as demanding to move leaving us little choice but to make a huge profit on them. If you know a better way of running the Saints give Freddie a call and offer your ideas. I'm guessing you won't do that 'cos you prefer to sit on the sidelines sniping and whining and pretending to have all the answers when really you're just like the rest of us - no idea what is going on only some of us choose to be happy and you choose to be a nasty miserable little veroucha instead."

Liverpool have agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £20m for Saints defender Dejan Lovren.

The Croatian centre half has long been angling for a move to Anfield, after the Premier League runner-ups' interest in him was revealed.

At one point, he even threatened to not return to Staplewood following the World Cup in a bid to force through the move to Liverpool.

Manger Ronald Koeman said last week that he was prepared to let Lovren go if the Reds met Saints' asking price, as he did not want players at Southampton who did not want to be there.

He will be the third Southampton player to swap the South Coast for the North West this summer, following in the footsteps of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana.

In total, Liverpool have paid Saints around £49m for the three players, which is half of the total outlay Brendan Rodgers has put on seven new signings.

Lovren joined Saints from French side Lyon for a fee of £8.5m last summer.

It is understood he will undergo a medical tomorrow before finalising the move.
