So that's our best defender gone, the best left back we've ever had, our best midfielder and our top scorer.
    More to follow next week.

Q; How do replace someone as good as Lovren?
A; You spend £20m on someone who has proven to be just as good.

Will saints do that? No they will spend around £5m and hope for the best.
Yes I am full of doom, but one by one even the the happiest of happy clappers must be beginning to realise that our side, which should have been improved from last season is in fact deteriorating week by week.

101, HE Bob, osprey etc ..even you lot would find it difficult to find a positive out of what has happened in the last 2 months.
gaz as you asked I can find a positive or .
firstly if you believe dejans whining words a couple of weeks ago his head was turned when we played diverpooh last season, long before KL took control from NC long before the new board were in place, so you cant lay blame at their feet. dejan and lielanna have both admitted that they wanted to go there after we played them up there so what could the board do? so the positive is that the new board have stuck to their words and not sold them for less than we wanted, how many different bids did diverpooh put in for these players? did we budge? we have sold 2 players who didn't want to be here and who both wanted to go on strike to force a move for above their true market value!
we don't have to spend £20mill to replace dejan or £25 to replace lielanna, we only paid £8.5 for dejan so why do we have to pay as much as we sold him for? if the rumours are true Ronnie has 2 international CB`s lined up at £10mill or under each, so its a 2 for 1 improvement!

you seem to think that I and others are happy with whats gone on over the summer, let me tell you I am not at all happy. however I don't blame the club for these moves I blame the players. its nothing to do with the clubs ambitions, that's just a lie. its the players wanting champs league without putting in the effort to get there and the extra fame and money that brings! I am angry, very angry but angry at the players!
anyone blaming KL for whats going on should hang their heads in shame!"

Liverpool have agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £20m for Saints defender Dejan Lovren.

The Croatian centre half has long been angling for a move to Anfield, after the Premier League runner-ups' interest in him was revealed.

At one point, he even threatened to not return to Staplewood following the World Cup in a bid to force through the move to Liverpool.

Manger Ronald Koeman said last week that he was prepared to let Lovren go if the Reds met Saints' asking price, as he did not want players at Southampton who did not want to be there.

He will be the third Southampton player to swap the South Coast for the North West this summer, following in the footsteps of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana.

In total, Liverpool have paid Saints around £49m for the three players, which is half of the total outlay Brendan Rodgers has put on seven new signings.

Lovren joined Saints from French side Lyon for a fee of £8.5m last summer.

It is understood he will undergo a medical tomorrow before finalising the move.
