SHAUN Lewis and Kevin Pigney were the big winners at Hartley Wintney Golf Club’s Seve Cup.

Lewis won the gross competition thanks to a one-over-par round of 72, beating Mark Chandler on countback after holing his second shot with a nine-iron at the par-four 13th.

Five handicapper Lewis was also involved in the nett shake-up, but had to settle for second place behind Pigney after both recorded four-under-par totals of 67 once handicaps had been taken into account.

Lewis’ good form continued as he won the July Midweek Stableford with a total of 38 points, one point clear of second-placed Lee Poulter.

The ladies’ July Medal Silver Division was won by Jackie Keay with a nett score of 73 (+2), one shot ahead of second-placed Jan Newman.

Velda Hodges’ nett 77 (+6) was enough to win the Bronze Division by three shots, with Marjorie Light the runner-up. Pat Stow’s nett score of 75 (+4) saw her win the Copper Division, with Pauline Perry three shots back in second.

The seniors July Stableford was won by Geoffrey Bannister, who amassed 40 points to finish one clear of second-placed Kenneth Hammond. David Quinn was a further point back in third.

The Huntsdale Cup was won by Eduard Little and Dylan Cornwell with a four-ball score of 75 (+4), beating second-placed Bob Collins and Brian Tedder by three shots.

The nett competition was won by Steven Shimwell and Paul McLuskey, who shot a seven-under-par round of 64 to beat nearest rivals Paul and Craig Marsh by two strokes.
