Jean Maton won four gold medals at the European Championships
JEAN Maton collected four gold medals in the European Masters Powerlifting Championships held in Pilzen, Czech Republic.
Maton, lifting in the Masters Two category (age 50+), 84plus kg class, retained her title, winning each lift and the overall crown for her medal haul.
This included a squat of 160kg, bench press of 112.5kg and deadlift 180kg, which gave her a total of 452.5kg.
With no competition, Maton’s totals were a little down on what she is normally capable of.
She will face stiff competition in her next competition, which is the World Masters Powerlifting Championships, which will be held at the same venue as the European Championships, Pilzen, at the end of September.
