SAINTS are reported to have made a £7.5m bid for England goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
The Celtic shot-stopper has continually been linked with a move to St Mary’s since Saints appointed Dave Watson as their new goalkeeping coach last month.
Watson has worked with Forster at international level.
Celtic are believed to want around £9m for Forster, who they signed from Newcastle for just £2m two years ago.
Celtic must pay 25 per cent of any fee they receive for the keeper to Newcastle.
The Daily Echo reported the day after Koeman was appointed Saints boss in mid June that a new goalkeeper was one of his main priorities.
Polish international Artur Boruc, who is also a former Celtic keeper, was the club’s regular No 1 under Mauricio Pochettino last season.
