JUSTIN Rose had a good round on day two of The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool, carding a two-under-par total of 70.
The north Hampshire golfer got the worst of the conditions this morning, playing in strong winds, but he coped well.
After making par at the first six holes, he dropped a shot at the seventh. However, a birdie two at the par-three ninth got him back on track, while an eagle three at the par-five 10th moved Rose to -2.
He dropped a shot a 14 for the second consecutive day, just failing with a long par putt after finding a gorse bush from the tee, but an excellent bunker shot set up a birdie four at the last.
Rose had been six shots off the pace after an opening round of 72 (par), but with scoring more difficult today, he is likely to be closer to the leaders come the end of play.
